I am a designer, visual storyteller, and creative problem-solver based in Columbus, Ohio. I help businesses and nonprofits build genuine connections with their users by creating empowering experiences and telling honest & compelling stories.
Areas of Expertise
Collaborative Design
Empathy is not always enough. When designers act as team players and facilitators that empower the users (who we are designing for) to be part of the process, the end results end up being way more efficient and impactful than what could be done alone.
User Research
People are fun, yet complex puzzles. Since I was young, I loved the challenge of discovering patterns and connections between things. Design research is an amazing tool to understanding and drawing connections between experiences and a user’s behaviors, needs, and inner motivations.
Visual Design
Good design is not subjective art. It’s the practical, left-brain approach of what makes a layout, brand, or user-interface successful. I love the creative challenge of visually communicating complex ideas or information into simple and digestible ways for people. (And the bonus is it looks pretty cool too!)
Visual Storytelling
Information can be boring. I have found 2-D animation and storytelling to be a powerful tool that communicates information or data in a way that resonates with all types of people to create fun, memorable, and engaging experiences.

Hi, my name is Tira. (Pronounced “Ty-ruh”)
With a BSD in Visual Communication Design from The Ohio State University, my focus as a designer is in user experience, visual design, and motion graphics.
Discovering the design field has had a profound impact on my life. This is because it combines my love for beautiful things with a practical way of using creativity to make real impact in people’s lives.
